An illustration of the relative positions of the visible and X-ray data

An image showing the layout of the SXDS. The SXDS filed is centerd on α = 02h18m, δ = −05°00′ (2000.0). The optical data consist of five Subaru/Suprime-Cam pointings arranged in a cross. The XMM-Newton Observatory data consist of seven pointings. Both data sets span 1.3° in extent. North is up, East is left.
