CISCO/OHS

CISCO/OHS is no longer available.

Introduction

CISCO (the Cooled Infrared Spectrograph and Camera for OHS) is a 10242 HAWAII array sensitive from 0.8-2.5 um which covers a 1.8' x 1.8' field of view with a range of broad and narrow-band filters. CISCO also provides low-resolution spectroscopic capabilities over this wavelength range via the use of grisms.

The OH suppressor (OHS) is a device inserted in the light path before CISCO which removes the OH airglow lines which dominate the broad-band background. OHS can be used to dramatically increase the sensitivity of spectroscopic observations in the J and H windows.
