Public Restrooms on Mauna Kea

There are no restrooms along or near the tour route. Please make sure you use a restroom before you arrive for the tour. There are four locations on Mauna Kea with public restroom facilities. The best location is at the Onizuka visitor Information Station.

 


Onizuka Visitor Information Center

There are restrooms at the back of the Onizuka Visitor Information Station.



At the First T-junction

There are three portable toilets at the first T-junction as you approach the summit along the Mauna Kea Summit Access Road.

Below the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope

There are three portable toilets slightly below the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope.

W.M. Keck Observatory (Visitors Gallery)

The W. M. Keck Observatory has a visitors gallery that is open to the public from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. The visitors gallery has public restrooms.
